Before Photoshop There Was AcidDraw
As I mentioned on my “About” page…
I [used to spend] most of my time “playing on the computer” creating ANSI and ASCII art for local Baltimore bulletin board systems. I was pretty successful and belonged to “underground art scene” groups such as Remorse (a division of ACiD), CiA, Mimic, Unit and my own group, Aspire.
For fun, I decided to dig around and gather up a bunch of my old-school artwork. Oh how I miss the days of WWiV, Telix, and ACiD Draw.
Please take a look through my ANSI / ASCII gallery. If you were a fan of BBSes and sixteen-color artwork, you’ll enjoy the stroll down memory lane.

that’s SERIOUSLY impressive!
I was also active on WWiV boards back in the day, and ran my own for awhile, also in the Baltimore area (Columbia). And I too created ANSI art and was in a few groups (whose names I forget now). Small world.
Hi,
Grt post. Though I never used Acid Draw, your post reminded me of those days, somewhat made me nostalgic…
it’s good, im impressed Krissy
Nice post, back to 90’s !
Great Post !
love me some ANSI art, good memories
Thanks for all of the kind comments! I wasn’t sure if anyone would care about or possibly even remember ANSI / ASCII art. I’m still a little shocked that this post has led to thousands of hits and a bunch of emails - some were even from my old “scene” and BBS buddies. It makes me happy to know that this “outdated” form of art is still appreciated to this day. Thanks again everyone!
Nice, Oh how we have grown since the 90’s
Very nice artwork, I’ve never tried it but looks cool.
